Where music inspires brilliance
At BSV, we believe that music plays a vital role in our student’s education and day-to-day life. It’s a way to help them express their emotions, enhance their mood, foster connections, promote cognitive development and inspire creativity.
We understand that music can have a positive impact on their wellbeing and social relations, nurturing a sense of belonging and community. This is why it has become an essential part of our curriculum.

Music department vision statement
The music department aims to create confident, resilient, and able musicians who can create high-quality performances, ambitious compositions and write knowledgeably about music across a breadth of genres.
They will be able to use instruments and technology confidently and competently, demonstrating skills which will be valuable during their whole lifetime.
School of Music
As part of the music programme, we created our School of Music which is open for all the Reception to the Year 11 students who wish to learn to play an instrument such as guitar, drums, violin, ukulele, piano or take singing lessons.
Students receive 30 minutes/week of private music tuition across the school year (33 sessions in total). These lessons take place during the school day and the timetable changes on a weekly basis.
What do we want to achieve with our School of Music?
Stimulate imagination and creativity
Improve cognitive abilities
Increase coordination
Sharpen hearing capacity
Build a new bridge to socialisation amongst students
Music spaces
To enable students' musical development at the highest level, our facilities help to enhance music education and provide students with a calm and comfortable place where they can explore, create, and develop their skills.
